# Cutline

> Cutline turns a PNG or JPG (a logo, drawing, clipart or a photo of a sketch) into a clean, cut-ready vector for cutting machines and lasers: closed paths only, specks removed, smoothed curves, optional color layers for multi-color vinyl, an optional offset or weed border, and files set up for Cricut Design Space (SVG), Silhouette Studio (DXF, SVG), Glowforge (SVG), LightBurn (SVG, DXF) and vinyl sign plotters (EPS, DXF, SVG). ## How it works

- Tracing runs in the person's browser. The image is never uploaded; the server only sees its SHA-256, byte size and pixel size when they buy.
- Tracing, adjusting, previewing and a free test cut are free. The test cut is one black layer traced at 600 px, saved as SVG straight from the browser, so a person can cut a test piece and check size and shape before paying. The full-resolution export files for one image (every color layer and border, every format) cost $2 USD, paid once, and that image's files can be downloaded again for 24 hours. There is no subscription.
- Open https://cutline.getnobody.org/#/trace to start. A link can preselect a machine: `#/trace?preset=cricut` (presets: cricut, silhouette, glowforge, lightburn, plotter). `#/trace?sample=1` opens my sample badge, for trying it without an image.

## Use it from your AI

- MCP server: `https://cutline.getnobody.org/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, no key needed). Add `/<workspace-key>` to also check that workspace's passes.
- Tools: get_pricing, list_machine_presets, check_trace_settings, start_trace_link, get_image_pass (with a workspace key).
- Typical flow: list_machine_presets to pick the machine, check_trace_settings to tune colors, detail, smoothing and speck size, then start_trace_link to give the person a link. They upload the image and pay in the browser. The tools never export files or skip payment.

## REST API

- Base URL: `https://cutline.getnobody.org/api/v1`, JSON. OpenAPI: `https://cutline.getnobody.org/api/v1/openapi.json`.
- Public: `GET /pricing`, `GET /presets`, `POST /settings/validate` (`{ settings, presetId? }`), `POST /workspaces` (returns a workspace key once; only its hash is stored; 20 per network per hour).
- With `Authorization: Bearer <workspace-key>`:
  - `POST /checkout` with `{ image: { sha256, bytes, mediaType, width, height } }` starts a $2 payment for one image and returns `{ passId, checkout }`. Limited to 10 checkouts per workspace and 30 per network per hour.
  - `POST /passes/{passId}/confirm` with the payment window's `razorpay_payment_id`, `razorpay_order_id` and `razorpay_signature` (or `{}` to ask the provider). The signature is verified on the server before anything counts as paid.
  - `GET /images/{sha256}/pass` returns the active pass for that image, or null.
  - `POST /exports` with `{ passId, imageSha256, presetId, format, settings, vector }` returns the SVG, DXF or EPS file as an attachment. Needs a paid pass for that exact image (402 otherwise); each pass allows 40 downloads of up to 3 different-looking designs within 24 hours, so a pass can't be reused for other images. `settings.size.width` is the width of the design itself (border included); empty paper around it is cropped off. Body at most 8 MB.
- Errors are `{ error, message }`: INVALID_INPUT or INVALID_VECTOR (400), UNAUTHORIZED (401), PAYMENT_REQUIRED (402), NOT_FOUND (404), LIMIT_REACHED (429).

## Pricing

Free: upload, trace, adjust, preview, cut view, and a test-cut SVG (one black layer, traced at 600 px, no border) written in the browser. Paid: $2 USD per image for the full-resolution export files (traced at up to 4096 px, every color layer and border) in every format of every machine preset, re-downloadable for 24 hours.
